Impact of biological sex on epigenetic programming  in aging kidney injury

The broad goal of Dr. Kumar’s research is to investigate the role of biological sex in regulation of epigenetic mechanisms contributing to the differences in aging renal pathology. Our current work in the lab is focused on sex-specific modulation of aging renal epigenetics. We are specifically studying alterations in histone modifications and injury markers in aging kidney using a combination of rodent models, in vivo, and in vitro experimental approaches.
